What is Assertiveness?
What is Assertiveness? Often people confuse assertiveness with self-confidence, but in reality, these are very different things. Self-confidence comes from a level of confidence in yourself, whereas assertiveness stems from your ability to be assertive in order to get what you want. When you combine these two, the result can be a very powerful personal power that has the ability to transform lives.
There are many things that separate assertiveness and self-confidence. While assertiveness usually involves a sense of control over one’s own emotions and thoughts, self-confidence often stems from your ability to project confidence and assert your best qualities. In many ways, these are the same qualities but instead express them in different ways assertief buoyant. This is why assertiveness can be a good thing, while self-confidence can make people appear either too passive or too aggressive.
When it comes to assertiveness, it’s best to remember that it’s not always about controlling others, but rather about controlling your own behavior and emotions. If you have an urge to assert yourself, consider how you would respond if you were the target of an aggressive or passive statement. While you might react in a passive manner, which may be appropriate in certain circumstances, when you feel your best and most authentic, assertiveness can be incredibly effective. The best way to determine whether you use assertiveness in your daily life is to ask yourself how you would react when faced with an assertive statement or action.
